Position Description:
"MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs all of the following tasks independently and provides assistance to other Service Engineers. Will have responsibility for developing multiple program deliverables and perform some deliverable coordination for assigned programs.
- Develop service schematic information for dealership technicians using engineering wiring harness prints/schematics. Service schematic information consists of wiring diagrams, connector end & electrical center identification views, component & harness routing views, and a master electrical component list.
- Participate in departmental, service performance integration team (S-PIT) and product development team (PDT) meetings.
- Investigate and respond to service information feedback & problem tracking resolution (PTR) forms.
- Investigate and respond to validation and quality audit results.
- Complete special projects as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Any ASE or State certifications (Electrical preferred) or equivalent experience.
- College Degree - Electrical/Mechanical Technical preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to read/understand wiring harness prints, engineering schematics, and component/system technical specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to trace-out and draw a circuit from wiring harness prints/engineering schematics.
- Previous service schematic information development required.
- Familiar with International Electro-technical Commission (IEC) automotive electrical symbols.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic automotive electronics.
- Experienced knowledge of expected failure modes when a circuit is open or shorted to ground/power.
- Automotive electrical diagnosis/repair experience preferred.
- Demonstrated facilitating and leadership skills.
- Familiar with ISO 9001:2000 documentation requirements.
